About Traveler Rohan

Hi Reader! Your visit to my blog is appreciated. I am Rohan Anirudh Singh aka Traveler Rohan, the author of this blog. I have been Blogging (in the Travel and History genre) since 2010. I have traveled across India and also to South East Asia (Thailand, to be precise). Apart from this blog, my work and pictures have been published in various online and print magazines. Path Rarely Taken - The Travel Blog is in its eleventh year and has around 300 posts. I have given talks on Travel and Historical Themes upon invitation.

Being historically and geographically inclined since I was eight, my writings reflect my love for Travel, History, and Cultures. When one loves something, he would like to explore, in detail, that topic. Similarly, my writings detail my travel experiences to a particular destination, which I put down in the form of Travelogues. They shed light on the history and culture of monuments or destinations.

When not blogging, I pursue my love for Medieval Indian History. I have a Master's Degree in Medieval Indian History. Apart from that, I have studied Modern Persian Language till Advanced Diploma Level (Graduation Level) and have completed my Certification Course in the Urdu Language. (I undertook the study of these languages as Persian was the court language of Medieval India and Urdu is a language in which one can find many translations of manuscripts).

Presently, I have been applying for Ph.D. programs in Medieval Indian History. I am an Independent Research Scholar. I write content on a freelance basis to financially sustain my academic and blogging efforts.

To conclude, Path Rarely Taken - The Travel Blog reflects the reminiscences of a 'Traveler-Historian' whose wish is to visit, experience, and understand the various cultures and civilizations of the world. I am also a 'Traveler-Historian' whose desire is to understand the history and heritage of Medieval India.

Once I have traveled, I bank upon my Creativity, Photography Skills, and skills in the English Language to re-create that destination for you here. I, Traveler Rohan, am someone who steps out to travel with no pre-conceived notions. A traveler is an observer, and therefore, I take a neutral approach to all issues.
